Media Q&A on Gilpin Court Redevelopment Update

WHAT: RRHA CEO Steven Nesmith will hold a press conference to announce that the proposed vote to transfer Gilpin Court redevelopment to the Richmond Development Corporation (RDC) will be delayed until September 17, 2025. The revised plan includes a phased approval process and continued ownership by RRHA. Additionally, RRHA Board Chairman Bill Johnson will appoint a Gilpin resident as a voting member of the RDC Board, strengthening accountability and community representation.

RRHA will also announce upcoming community meetings at Greater Mount Moriah Baptist Church to further engage residents and stakeholders in the redevelopment planning.
