Armstrong Renaissance Wins National Award

The Armstrong Renaissance development, located in Richmond’s Churchill North area is a recipient of the prestigious national 2022 Charter Award from the Congress for the New Urbanism.

This project, which is a result of the combined efforts of Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, the City of Richmond, The Community Builders, Creighton Court families and community stakeholders, is a part of the build-first strategy in the revitalization of RRHA’s Creighton Court public housing community.

The Congress for New Urbanism’s (CNU) Charter Awards recognizes outstanding achievements in architectural, landscape, and urban design and planning worldwide. Regarded as the preeminent award for excellence in urban design, the CNU Charter Awards honor a select number of winners representing major contributions to building more equitable, sustainable, connected, healthy, and prosperous communities. The 2022 Charter Awards places an emphasis on projects that promote togetherness and inclusion.

“TCB is incredibly honored and grateful to be named a CNU Award winner. Given that this project is truly a joint effort, it reflects all of the exceptional work that we have accomplished together!” said Juan Powell, TCB Regional Vice President of Real Estate Development.

“RRHA could not be happier about this award! We appreciate being a part of the talented community minded team responsible for bringing this project to fruition,” said RRHA Interim CEO Stacey Daniels Fayson.
