RRHA Is Purging Its Waitlist – Save Your Spot! March 2 – 31, 2026

From March 2 through March 31, 2026, applicants currently on the housing waitlist of the  Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) should log in to the Applicant portal to update their information in order to remain on the waitlist.

RRHA will purge its more than 20,000 waitlist numbers.  Applicants interested in remaining on the RRHA waiting lists for available housing should update their information electronically beginning Monday, March 2, 2026.  The whole process takes minutes and users are given step-by-step instructions to make it easier.

“We want to encourage all our current families and individuals on the waiting list to be proactive in updating their information. Purging our housing waiting lists will allow for more efficient operations,” said RRHA CEO Steven Nesmith.

“We encourage all families and individuals currently on the waiting list to be proactive in keeping their information up to date. Streamlining the purging process allows us to maintain accurate records, confirm continued interest, and operate more efficiently,” said Fatimah Smothers-Hargrove, RRHA Vice President of the Housing Choice Voucher Program and Tenant Selection Office

An initial email reminder will be sent starting March 2, 2026 to all waiting list applicants. This email will contain next steps and their registration code (if applicable).  Those who are still interested in remaining on the waiting list will need to log-in to the portal to update their contact information and placement on the waiting list. All requests to remain on the waiting list must be received no later than close of business on March 31, 2026. Applicants who do not update their information by the deadline will be removed from the waiting list.  This process will eliminate duplication and make room for other families and individuals who may be interested in the opportunity for affordable housing.

Reasonable accommodations for those that are disabled will be made to fully utilize any of the services offered.  For questions concerning RRHA’s waitlists, contact RRHA’s Call Center at (804) 780-4200 or toll free at 1-833-750-7742 (RRHA).
