Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Damon Duncan announced last week that veteran government communicator Angela Fountain will be its new communications and public relations director. In this role Angela will oversee internal and external communications, media relations and serve as a top spokesperson for the agency.
Fountain previously served as a senior public information manager for the city of Richmond Department of Public Utilities, a role which she held for 13 years. She also worked as the public relations director for Johnson Marketing Inc. of Richmond, VA and Assistant Programs Coordinator for Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA.
“Angela Fountain brings to RRHA more than 20 years of communications experience in the academic, private and public sectors,” said RRHA CEO Damon Duncan. “She will provide strategic direction for the agency’s communications component. We are excited to welcome her experience and perspective as part of the RRHA Executive team. “
Fountain has been a Richmond resident for more than 20 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Wilder School at Virginia Commonwealth University and is a current member of several trade organizations to include the Public Relations Society of America, the Communications and Marketing Committee of the American Gas Association, Virginia Government Communicators and the American Marketing Association.
