Darrell Davis to head RRHA’s Real Estate & Community Development Division

Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority’s (RRHA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Steven B. Nesmith has announced Darrell J. Davis as the new Senior Vice President of the organization’s Real Estate and Community Development (RECD) division. Mr. Davis will come aboard on December 15, 2022.

We are thrilled to welcome Darrell to RRHA. He brings years of unparalleled experience in both public housing and private sector real estate development as well as commercial development. His leadership will provide a greater level of direction and structure in the growth and development of our Real Estate and Community Development division.

Steven Nesmith, RRHA CEO

In this position, Mr. Davis will focus on creating new affordable housing communities, serve as a catalyst to providing long-term affordable housing, drive redevelopment efforts and support revitalization in RRHA’s targeted communities. Additionally, he will oversee all aspects of RRHA’s affordable housing real estate development, site acquisition, land use and zoning analysis; guidelines by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, financial feasibility, grant writing, and closings.

Davis comes highly qualified with 30 years of development and finance experience from a variety of affordable housing powerhouses. His last position was the Director of the Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization Department in Charleston County, South Carolina. Before that he was the Director of the Development division at the Miami Dade Public Housing and Community Development department in Miami, Florida. And before that he was the Chief Development Officer of the District of Columbia Housing Authority in Washington DC.
